Fire Safety Signage
We ensure safety and compliance while preserving architectural integrity and functionality.
Since the tragedy of Grenfell, certain shortfalls in safety compliance in communal areas of housing blocks have been highlighted. Having worked extensively with large housing associations, we have in-depth knowledge of safety signage requirements.
We are able to carry out initial surveys, supply, install, and maintain signage in the communal areas of high-rise buildings so that residents, visitors, tradespeople, and the emergency services can safely and efficiently navigate their way through the building. Failure in these basic areas can have devastating consequences.
The emergency services must be able to quickly identify and locate a specific apartment or flat upon entry through wayfinding signage, which indicates the number of levels and which residences are on each level. At each level, door numbers and directional signage must be in place.
The fire service must know where to quickly access the cut-off switches. Fire exit signage must be photoluminescent. Emergency lighting, where installed, must be operable and maintained.
